Pavilion Energy has completed LNG bunkering of Singapore's first LNG hybrid tug via trucks, the company announced on March 30 via a LinkedIn post.

“We are proud to have celebrated a milestone in the decarbonisation of Singapore's ports yesterday - the successful delivery of LNG bunkering to Singapore's first LNG hybrid tug via trucks,” it said.

Christened as JMS Sunshine, the Singapore-flagged vessel is the first-of-its-kind running on pure LNG engine and is designed, built, owned and operated by Sembcorp Marine. The JMS Sunshine, which is the first of a series of LNG hybrid tugs, is part of Sembcorp Marine's efforts to lead maritime fleet renewal with green propulsion vessels, Pavilion said.

A total of 34 m3 of LNG was transferred from the trucks to the receiving vessel at Jurong Port. This operation marks the beginning of Pavilion's truck-to-ship LNG bunkering operations with Sembcorp Marine, under a supply agreement with Bulk Trade, a Sembcorp Marine subsidiary.

“Importantly, it forms part of our commitment to support our customers in their energy transition journey with LNG as a cleaner marine fuel,” Pavilion said.
