The ACME Group and IGL, a city gas distribution company in Delhi, have entered into an agreement to jointly produce and blend green hydrogen into IGL's gas network, ACME said on May 5.

The partnership aims to promote the use of green hydrogen in India by establishing hydrogen generation plants and electrolyzers to blend green hydrogen into IGL's pipeline networks that supply households, businesses, and CNG vehicles.

The parties will also collaborate on policy matters to create a regulatory framework that encourages customers to commit to long-term offtakes of green hydrogen and green ammonia.

IGK is pone of the biggest city gas companies in India. It supplies piped natural gas (PNG) and CNG to customers in the states of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. It operates a network of around 750 CNG stations that serve over 1.7mn vehicles and a pipeline network of approximately 21,000 km, supplying PNG to more than 2mn domestic households, over 3,800 industrial units, and more than 6,000 commercial establishments.
