Aker Carbon Capture wins Swedish contract for carbon capture plant

Aker Carbon Capture, a carbon capture technology company, has been awarded a pre-FEED contract for a Just Catch application by a Swedish energy company, it said on October 16. Just Catch is a compact and modular carbon capture plant for the mid-scale emitter market.
This award follows an earlier feasibility study contract for another Swedish company, Soderenergi, announced in June.
Sweden is aiming to become carbon neutral by 2045 and achieve negative net CO2 emissions thereafter. As part of these ambitions, Sweden is positioning itself to become a global leader in generating durable carbon dioxide removal (CDR) credits from bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS).
Aker Carbon Capture is already delivering seven carbon capture units today, including the Just Catch units for Orsted in Denmark and Twence in the Netherlands.
