Contrail Transport, a container logistics company based in Visbek, Germany, has signed a six-year deal with Alternoil for the supply of bio-LNG, Alternoil announced on January 9. Specific details of the deal, such as the volume of bio-LNG to be supplied or financial terms, have not been disclosed.

The deal enables Contrail to switch to Reefuel, Alternoil's bio-LNG product, allowing the company to operate its truck fleets in a climate-neutral manner. Contrail operates a modern fleet of more than 150 heavy-duty vehicles.

Bio-LNG is considered a cleaner alternative to traditional diesel fuel, contributing to environmental sustainability. Alternoil operates a nationwide network of filling stations in Germany, facilitating the distribution and accessibility of this alternative fuel.

Earlier this year, Alternoil secured a long-term supply agreement with Danish biogas plant operator GronGas, further strengthening its commitment to providing bio-LNG solutions. Together with its partners, Alternoil aims to achieve carbon neutrality for over 50,000 heavy-duty trucks by 2030 through investments in waste-to-energy projects.
