Tidewater Midstream joins NGIF Industry Grants to fund cleantech startups

By Dale Lunan

Tidewater Midstream and Infrastructure has joined NGIF Industry Grants as a new participant supporting innovation and clean technology development along the natural gas value chain, NGIF Capital said December 9.

NGIF Industry Grants is an industry-led grant organisation established by the Natural Gas Innovation Fund (NGIF) and the Canadian Gas Association (CGA) to fund early-stage startups developing solutions to environmental and other challenges facing Canada’s natural gas sector.

“Clean technology will play an important role in our environmental stewardship practices, and we are proud to expand our relationship with NGIF,” Tidewater CEO Joel Macleod said. “Supporting innovative solutions will not only help our industry but also assist in positioning Canada as a leader in clean energy.”

Earlier this year, Tidewater was one of seven limited partners to invest in NGIF Cleantech Ventures’ C$50mn equity fund. The fund, targeted specifically to cleantech, is expected to invest in technologies that will reduce emissions and deliver other environmental benefits along the gas value chain, from production through to end-use applications.
