Hong Kong-listed Hans Energy Company on May 3 announced that it has received an agreement-in-principle from the local government to begin construction of a hydrogen refuelling station at the West Kowloon bus depot of Citybus in Hong Kong.

The station will be the first of its kind in Hong Kong and is expected to be operational in the second half of 2023, providing refuelling services to Citybus-owned buses.

The project will be funded by Hans Energy Company, while CIMC Hydrogen Energy Technology (Beijing) Co., a subsidiary of CIMC Enric Holdings, will construct the station.

Hans Energy holds approximately 15.56% shareholding interest in Bravo Transport Holdings, which indirectly owns a 100% shareholding interest in Citybus.

The company stated that this project is a “crucial milestone” in Hong Kong’s journey towards achieving zero emissions.
