Strengthening cooperation in the sector of hydrogen and ammonia as a fuel source.

By Shardul Sharma

The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) on October 25 signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Singapore’s Sembcorp Industries on cooperation in hydrogen and ammonia.

Sembcorp aims to deepen collaboration with Japanese companies regarding hydrogen supply chain projects, in order to achieve the goal of realising a decarbonised society, JBIC said.

With this MoU on strategic cooperation, JBIC said it aims to accelerate the structuring of projects for developing the supply chain of hydrogen and ammonia as a fuel source.

In its fourth medium-term business plan, released in June 2021, JBIC aims to respond to energy transformation, toward the realisation of a decarbonised society.
