Japan’s Jera and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) have signed a strategic collaboration agreement to work in the clean hydrogen and ammonia fields, aiming to contribute to the UAE's Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative, Jera announced on July 19.

Under the agreement, the two companies will work to build a comprehensive value chain in clean hydrogen and ammonia production. This collaboration will not only strengthen the business ties between Jera and ADNOC but will also unlock new avenues for business expansion and growth, the Japanese company said.

By partnering with leading companies in Japan and abroad, Jera said it aims to establish and expand hydrogen and ammonia supply chains.

Jera and ADNOC have built a relationship through years of LNG sales and purchases, and have jointly conducted feasibility assessments in the hydrogen and ammonia fields.
