JOGMEC, Saudi Aramco to work on hydrogen, ammonia

By Shardul SharmaJapan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC) has agreed with Saudi Aramco to collaborate on project support, technology development and human resource development related to the production and storage of hydrogen and ammonia, JOGMEC said on October 11.
JOGMEC intends to provide equity capital and liability guarantees for projects in Saudi Arabia related to the production and storage of hydrogen and ammonia. Furthermore, JOGMEC and Saudi Aramco plan to cooperate on ways to reduce environmental impact to achieve carbon neutrality.
The strengthening of cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Japan is expected to be a strong driving force in establishing the emerging market of hydrogen and fuel ammonia, JOGMEC said.
