KPI OceanConnect, a marine fuels and lubricants provider, has completed its first simultaneous operation (SIMOPS) of LNG bunkering via Pavilion Energy’s Brassavola LNG bunkering vessel in Singapore, it said on April 8.

The operation was conducted at the Tuas container terminal. During the SIMOPS LNG bunkering operation, KPI OceanConnect facilitated the bunkering of LNG to the Mediterranean Shipping Company's vessel, Monica Cristina, while concurrently managing loading and unloading procedures.

"KPI OceanConnect is proud to work alongside industry leaders such as Pavilion Energy and MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company to accelerate the development of infrastructure and meet the increasing demand for sustainable marine energy solutions," stated KPI OceanConnect in a LinkedIn post.

Pavilion Energy, in a separate LinkedIn post, expressed its delight in collaborating with KPI OceanConnect to complete another successful delivery of LNG.

"Brassavola has been gaining momentum in its operations, achieving yet another milestone with its first simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) of LNG bunkering," commented Pavilion Energy.

The successful SIMOPS LNG bunkering operation follows Brassavola's maiden ship-to-ship (STS) LNG bunkering operation conducted in February this year. During this operation, the vessel delivered 1,970 tonnes of LNG to the Rio Tinto chartered dual-fuelled bulk carrier, Mount Api, in the Port of Singapore.

Brassavola, Singapore's first membrane LNG bunker vessel, was delivered to Pavilion Energy earlier this year. Equipped with dual-fuel engines and featuring a loading and bunkering rate of up to 2,000m³/hour.
