Appalachian producer says 100% of its output now certified as responsibly sourced.

Appalachian producer Olympus Energy said July 12 it had earned a top Platinum rating for Appalachian natural gas produced from its 100,000 net acre position in southwestern Pennsylvania.

“Every day, the Olympus team works to produce natural gas in the most efficient and environmentally responsible manner possible,” Olympus CEO Tim Dugan said. “This certification validates our commitment.”

Privately-held Olympus does not disclose production figures, but did say the Platinum certification from Project Canary means 100% of its year-end 2021 operated assets are now certified as responsibly sourced gas.

Project Canary will begin a review of Olympus Energy’s Hyperion Midstream subsidiary this month, and successful certification will make Olympus the first integrated exploration and production company to achieve full upstream and midstream certification.

“Not often do we see a producer achieve best-in-class ratings across-the-board like Olympus has,” Project Canary founder and CEO Chris Romer said. “It’s a credit to their industry leadership for making environmental integrity fundamental to the business.”
