Oman LNG has signed an agreement with Sultan Qaboos University's sustainable energy research centre to undertake a first techno economic pre-feasibility study on developing "hydrogen and energy transition clusters" in the Sur industrial state near Oman's east tip, the company said on social media on March 4.

Oman LNG said the agreement supported the Hy-Fly National Hydrogen Alliance in its aim to establish hydrogen clusters across Oman.

Oman LNG is 51% owned by the government of Oman, while other shareholders include Shell, TotalEnergies, Korea Gas Corp, Partex, Mitsubishi and Itochu.
