Japanese utility Ueda Gas Co. has signed an agreement to buy carbon-neutral natural gas from energy company Inpex Corp., the companies said on April 28.

Ueda Gas will use carbon-neutral gas at its head office and facilities in Nagano Prefecture. In addition, Ueda Gas will supply carbon-neutral gas to large-scale customers in Ueda City using city gas for industrial purposes.

Ueda Gas will actively promote the sale of carbon-neutral gas to help customers promote the decarbonisation of their business, Inpex said.

Inpex said it will work closely with city gas business operators to help reduce greenhouse by providing solutions such as carbon neutral gas and other forms of clean energy.
