Germany-based logistics company Westfalen will collaborate with food wholesaler EGV, aiming to supply bio-CNG-fuelled trucks, it said on January 26.

The initial phase of this collaboration is set to benefit bulk consumers and catering customers in North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony. The logistics company will utilise gas-powered vehicles equipped with bio-CNG.

Last year, Westfalen opened its first bio-CNG filling station for commercial vehicles in Coesfeld. The company is also spearheading the adoption of CO2-neutral bio-LNG to meet the needs of mobility customers in the freight forwarding and logistics sector.

From now on, bio-LNG will replace its fossil counterpart at the four Westphalia LNG filling stations in Munster, Herford, Herne and Cologne. All LNG vehicles can seamlessly refuel with bio-LNG, it said in December.
