India's AVG Logistics inducts LNG-powered trucks

AVG Logistics, a player in the Indian logistics industry, has taken a stride towards sustainable transportation with the induction of LNG-powered trucks into its fleet, the company announced on March 3.
In a LinkedIn post, it announced the addition of a new range of LNG-powered trucks, supplied by Tata Motors, to serve its customer, Tata Steel.
“Embarking on a road to a greener future and sustainable logistics solutions. We are super delighted to add the new range of LNG-powered trucks by Tata Motors for our customer Tata Steel,” it said.
The vehicles were flagged off in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, by N Chandrasekaran, chairman of Tata Sons, and the key was handed over to Sanjay Gupta, managing director of AVG Logistics, in the presence of industry leaders including TV Narendran, CEO of Tata Steel, and Girish Wagh, executive director of Tata Motors.
LNG-powered trucks are gaining traction in the Indian logistics landscape, particularly within sectors like steel and cement. Mumbai-based logistics firm GreenLine has already deployed LNG-fuelled trucks at UltraTech Cement's bulk terminal in Pune, Maharashtra. Furthermore, JK Lakshmi Cement has also embraced LNG trucks for its transportation needs.
