Blue Energy Motors, an automotive company based in Pune, has inked a deal with India's state-owned logistics company, Container Corporation of India (CONCOR), to supply 100 LNG-powered trucks, it announced on August 29.

"This groundbreaking partnership symbolises the pivotal role that Blue Energy Motors will play in propelling the green trucking movement across the nation," the company stated. By strategically deploying their LNG fleet nationwide, Blue Energy Motors aims to actively contribute to CONCOR's commitment to fostering sustainable trucking practices.

Blue Energy Motors unveiled India's first LNG-powered truck last year. The 5528 4x2 55-ton truck boasts an FPT Industrial multipoint stoichiometric combustion engine. Not only does this engine enhance fuel efficiency, but it also significantly reduces noise levels compared to conventional diesel engines.

Anirudh Bhuwalka, CEO, Blue Energy Motors recently told GatPathways the Indian market offers huge potential for heavy-duty long-haul transportation and is ready for a green trucking revolution.
