State-backed Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) on May 3 announced its commitment to finance a water treatment and biogas energy generation project in El Salvador. It did not provide any further details. 

Sultan Al-Marshad, CEO of the SDF, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Alexandra Hill Tinoco, the foreign minister of El Salvador. The MoU establishes a framework for collaboration aimed at supporting and financing various developmental projects in El Salvador.

“This MoU represents a step towards financing the water treatment and biogas power generation from the Acelhaute River water project. Where the development loan agreement for the project will be signed upon coordination between the two parties,” SFD said.
