Certification an important milepost to net zero.

Spain’s Repsol said November 2 it had begun supplying 400mn ft3/day of natural gas from its Marcellus upstream operations certified by global certification platform MiQ.

With the certification, Repsol is continuing towards its goal of reducing the methane emissions intensity from its upstream operations to 0.20% by 2025 from 1.34% in 2017, it said.

“This is an important milestone that reflects the contribution of our upstream business to achieving Repsol’s energy transition targets, including our goal to have net zero emissions by 2050,” said Sheldon Lillico, director of Repsol’s Marcellus business unit.
