SUMMARY

Injections from first phase expansion at Grow-TEC began in late June.

Vancouver-based EverGen Infrastructure said July 18 it has been injecting renewable natural gas (RNG) from its Grow-TEC facility near Lethbridge, in southern Alberta, since late June.

The RNG is being injected into a local gas utility grid as part of an offtake agreement with BC gas distributor FortisBC.

Grow-TEC, located on the Perry family farm, is a multi-faceted bioenergy venture which has been converting biodegradable waste into biogas for renewable power generation for more than eight years.

EverGen acquired a 67% stake in Grow-TEC in July 2022 and launched a two-phase expansion of its RNG production capabilities. Phase 1 adds 80,000 GJ/year of RNG production, while Phase 2 will add a third anaerobic digester and increase RNG production capacity to 140,000 GJ/year.

Feasibility work for Phase 2 is underway, and a final investment decision is targeted for later this year.
