Spanish logistics company HAM and its unit Transportes HAM have acquired 50 new LNG-powered Volvo tractor units, the company announced on November 14.

The trucks are the Volvo FH model with 460 HP and 500 HP with the latest driving assistance safety elements. HAM has taken delivery of 25 units and expects to receive the remaining trucks during the next year.

"At HAM Group and Transportes HAM we have been committed to sustainable mobility for more than 30 years, with a large fleet of LNG vehicles, a real, safe and clean alternative, that mitigates the greenhouse effect on the environment, reducing polluting emissions compared to fossil fuels," Víctor Banderas, director of transport and safety of HAM Group, said.

These LNG-powered trucks can be used in regional and long-haul heavy transport operations. With the new 225 kg tank and the new 500 HP engine, autonomy is increased by between 10%-14%, HAM said.
